Find freedom through structure. This class offers ancient tools and techniques, adapted for the modern day practitioner. Learn a system that will lay a foundation of support in developing or deepening your meditation practice. You'll learn how to adapt each step, based on what you need each time you come to the mat. I'll support you on your journey throughout our time together with replays, a private support page and email access for questions.
There will be kriya practices to cleanse and purify parts of the energetic body, there will be mantra to shift our energy and thoughts, we will cultivate balance and shed the ideas of who we think we are in order to connect back to who we truly are, so that we can live from a space of deep knowing, connection and love, which is our true nature.
We open each class chatting about your practice and any questions that have come up and then discuss the meditation techniques for the night. There's a set sequence of pre-meditative asana that we do for about 15 mins before we sit. I will guide you through pranayama (breathing techniques), visualization, mantra and mudra to help direct and shift our energy and focus inward. Up to 18 mins will be unguided silence, but no worries, I will give you tools to use! There will also be plenty of chairs and props. We close with a 10 min grounding and short savasana.
I am a Senior Teacher and Sadhaka Yogini in the ISHTA lineage. ISHTA is the Integrated Science of Hatha Tantra and Ayurveda and it means "that which resonates with the individual spirit.” I will be your guide through these practices and help you deepen, or establish, your meditation practice. Whether this is your first time meditating or you have been sitting for years, this series will meet you exactly where you are at.
Sitting on the ground is not a prerequisite and neither is having a quiet mind.
This series will focus on mantra, which is a tool used to liberate the mind. We will chant mantra to draw in energy to help transform and release that which blocks us from tapping back into our truth and to the infinite wisdom of the universe.
Some positive side effects to chanting:
Lowers blood pressure and cholesterol
Strengthens the immune system
Supports better sleep, memory and focus
Stimulates the vagus nerve helping with digestion and stress
Helps mental and emotional health
Vibration changes the molecular structure of water and we are made mostly of water. Come chant these sacred sounds and experience real change within. It’s a beautiful experience to chant and then sit in the vibration of your sound and that of those around you.
