ISHTA Meditation Sankalpa Series

Jan 14 - Feb 25
7:15-8:30pm MT
In person or online at YogaMcc

Find freedom through structure. This class offers ancient tools and techniques, adapted for the modern day practitioner. Learn a system that will lay a foundation of support in developing or deepening your meditation practice. You'll learn how to adapt each step, based on what you need each time you come to the mat. I'll support you on your journey throughout our time together with replays, a private support page and email access for questions.

There will be kriya practices to cleanse and purify parts of the energetic body, there will be mantra to shift our energy and thoughts, we will cultivate balance and shed the ideas of who we think we are in order to connect back to who we truly are, so that we can live from a space of deep knowing, connection and love, which is our true nature.

We open each class chatting about your practice and any questions that have come up and then discuss the meditation techniques for the night. This series will be focused on Sankalpa meditations.

Sankalpa
“San"- that which resonates with spirit, a connection with your highest truth

"Kalpa"- an intention, a thought, vow, the rule to be followed above all other rules

“The quieter you become, the more you are able to hear.” Rumi

It is in the silence that truth is seen, desires are clear, knots untied and inspiration abounds. There is no one right way to find this space within, and because we are ever changing, we may need different paths from one day to the next.

This Sankalpa Series will use different practices each week to access more stillness in the mind.

Sankalpa work is about listening to our heart’s desire and then taking action in our life which aligns with the truth residing within us.

The first week will be more lecture as we look at what sankalpa is, what kinds of obstacles appear, how to use our practice to support our needs and how to set up a comfortable meditation seat as well as developing a home practice.

The remaining weeks, we will prepare for our meditation seat with a mix of restorative yoga, gentle movement, slow flow and nidra practices.

You will be able to keep the videos for the week, so if you can’t make it live with me, you can still join this series.

This class is open to all levels and is a beautiful complimentary practice to the Sankalpa Workshop, though it is not required to take both. They can each stand alone. Please have a journal for each class.

I am a Senior Teacher and Sadhaka Yogini in the ISHTA lineage. ISHTA is the Integrated Science of Hatha Tantra and Ayurveda and it means "that which resonates with the individual spirit.” I will be your guide through these practices and help you deepen, or establish, your meditation practice. Whether this is your first time meditating or you have been sitting for years, this series will meet you exactly where you are at.

Sitting on the ground is not a prerequisite and neither is having a quiet mind.
