Come, rest deeply and gently. Experience a sense of peace and relaxation, a feeling of being fully supported and held in comfort and ease, a welcoming back to a place steeped with wisdom...the space within.
Restorative Yoga:
Every pose is done lying down and fully supported with blankets and pillows or yoga props. These long held postures are a passive way to relax, renew, reduce stress and quiet your body and mind.
Yoga Nidra:
Also known as yogic sleep, nidra is a guided meditation done lying down. It releases tension physically, mentally and emotionally and is a deeply restful practice. Nidra can help cultivate new belief patterns, help release what no longer serves you, it is inspiring and allows you to explore the many parts of yourself.
With Torus Centre for Integrative Healing
I am running a few virtual stress reducing practices with Torus as a lead up to my Hormone Yoga (HY) Workshop that I will be doing live in November. For those in the Chicagoland area, I will also be there in person July 20th for an Intro to HY and Stress Reduction workshop from 10-12 CST. The workshops below will benefit you even if you are not going to take the HY Workshop.
Stress and hormones are deeply connected and when we can learn to manage our stress better, we will notice a shift in our hormonal symptoms.
It’s hard to find time during this busy season, so we will focus on some short, effective techniques that have a big impact…3 breathing techniques and a restorative pose with pillows and blankets.
For many of us, we spend years focused on others, pouring our energy and time into them. It isn’t until around menopause that many women talk of a shift in that focus. A greater desire for self care, reflection, exploration of dreams and desires begins to emerge.
I will share a lovely meditation of calling your name, calling all parts of yourself, from past to present, into awareness. We will watch them all become one as you see yourself now, the culmination of all the parts. Then we will ask what excites, grounds and brings peaceful within, we will tap into a deep desire of what the heart truly wants and plant that seed to nourish and grow as it should.
LEARN MORE
"The YNTT was a beautiful integrative experience that enabled me to deepen my understanding of Yoga Nidra practice, to explore pathways through key elements of the practice, and to develop my own voice and creativity in offering Yoga Nidra as guided meditation practice. As I learned to share this tradition with others, every aspect of my own yoga practice was enriched: breath sensing, body sensing, drawing upon inner resources, visualization and more. Each of the instructors were seasoned masters -- the depth of their pooled experience was inspiring. I highly recommend this course to other seekers!"
-Dianne
Anne, George and I run a Yoga Nidra Immersion and Certification together and at the end of a certification, we came up with this fun improvisation using all of our voices in the final practice. It was such an incredible experience that we got together and did a professional recording of 3 nidras.
We each take lead in one while the others offer back up support through voice and sound.
I hope you enjoy!
